Q: What is your price range?
A: Our price range is approximately $750 to $5000. Please do not be afraid to let us know what your budget is; we will never try to sell you a gown out of your budget. Additionally, we often sell gown samples off-the-rack at a discounted rate. We believe that good fabric and fabulous designs are available at every price point. We want you to find your dream dress just as much as you do!
Q: How long do dresses take to order?
A: It usually takes about 4 to 6 months for a wedding gown and about 12 weeks for a bridesmaid's or mother's dress to arrive in our store after it has been ordered, although it may vary by designer and the time of year the order was placed. Typically, bridal gowns ordered around July/August take close to 4 months to arrive and gowns ordered around December/January take closer to 6 months. This is not a guarantee by any means, only a rough guideline that some may find helpful to plan around. You should also plan about 2 months for alterations after the dress has come in, ideally ordering your gown at least 9 months prior to your wedding. The more time you allow yourself, the less stress you will feel; it always better to order sooner rather than later. But don't let this time frame scare you! We know that not every bride is able to allot this much time and often complete the entire process much sooner (even within 24 hours on rare and unwanted emergency occasions!).
Q: What size are your samples?
A: Our sample sizes range from 6 to 20 with the majority being 10 to 12—but remember, this is bridal size, not street size.
Q: Do I need to make an appointment?
A: Appointments are always recommended to ensure a fitting room is available for you to try on our dresses. We will accommodate walk-ins whenever we are able, but give priority to clients with appointments. If you happen to walk in while we are busy, you are free to browse our collections and may book an appointment for another time—and we hope you do!
Q: How do I book an appointment?
A: Please call us at (703) 683-8697 to schedule an appointment to view any of our dresses. We no longer accept appointment requests via email as appointment slots tend to fill up between email exchanges.
Q: How long is an appointment?
A: Appointments usually last for one hour. This especially holds true for weekends, as our appointment slots are typically fully booked. To help maximize your time with us, we recommend coming in 10-15 minutes early to start browsing our collections before your appointment officially begins. Weekday appointments may last longer, if time permits.
Q: What should I bring to my appointment?
A: We have strapless bras and shoes for you to try on with the gowns, although you may bring your own accessories if you would like. We also request that you do not wear excessive makeup or body tanning products as they do mark and damage the gowns. You may also bring some photos from magazines or the internet to better give us a sense of your taste and style, but pictures are not necessary.
Q: Can I bring someone with me?
A: Many brides want to bring some family members and/or friends to the appointment. We encourage you to have no more than 2 guests, as it may become overwhelming. A larger crowd tends to bring a larger range of opinions. Remember, this is your dress for your day—don't let anyone tell you differently. One to two highly trusted opinions is usually a nice accompaniment to the experience.
Q: Can I take photos?
A: To save time—and confusion—we ask that you only take photos of your 1-2 favorite dresses towards the end of your appointment. However, we do not recommend you use these photographs to help you make your final decision. Our boutique is not lit for professional photography and most non-professional cameras cannot capture the fine details of the bridal gown you probably already fell in love with. It is always best to make your decision while standing in the gown.
Q: I sent an email to your boutique. Why have I not received a response yet?
A: Due to the large number of customers in our boutique on weekends, emails are typically only responded to Monday-Thursday. We also receive a high volume of emails so it may take a few days to sort through them all, even during the week. In any case, we will send you a reply as promptly as we can—we love hearing from you!
